So What's in a Name? - Part 1: The Surname

InfiniteQuest Article Image

Numerologically, our name can be divided into three sections; our first, middle and last name, or surname. Our first name indicates how we handle physical matters, our middle name indicates how we approach emotional issues and our surname represents our spiritual mission and traditional heritage. This article was prompted by questions coming from those who are getting married and need to know if taking on the “other” family name is the best thing to do. Those who would like to know the effect of how they would be perceived by others if they changed their name can also use this.

First, it’s important to know that your family name is an experience and training that prepares you to approach life in a specific way that allows you to handle your “karma,” both good and bad. Changing your name will not alter that, but merely include the affect of another family name to compound with your own. So the question really becomes, “How will adding another family name to my vibration alter my karmic lessons?” So for those of you getting married and taking on another family name, you will simply add another dimension to your heritage or, if you choose not to do so, work with you mate’s family issues from a more “detached” perspective. The next question is, “What qualities will be taken on with a new name?” I will give the pros and cons of each number vibration, but first we must determine how to figure out that number vibration for the name to be taken on.

All the letters of the alphabet have a number vibration. Begin by numbering them 1-26 from A-Z; “A” being 1, “P” being 16 and “Z” being 26. Now take each letter and number and reduce them by adding the double digits together until you obtain a single number. “P” becomes a 7 and “Z” becomes an 8. For example the letter “S” is the 19th. Add 1+9=10 and add them again, 1+0=1. Hence the letter “S” is a “1” vibration. Next, if the name is Smith, add all the numbers together, that is 1+4+9+2+8=24. Then, add the double digits, 2+4=6. Therefore, the number vibration of Smith is “6.” Once you’ve determined the number vibration of the name, you can examine its meaning to see if you’d like to take on the affect as your own. Below is a list of some of the family assets and problems.

Question: “What if I’m already married and I want to know which name I should use in calculating my numbers?”

Being married already, the choice has already been made. Depending on your choice, there are three ways this can be dealt with. First, if you’ve kept your maiden name, your initial family vibration remains in tact and you will deal with your mate’s family issues from a more impartial perspective. This keeps a sense of clarity about your own heritage, lessons and boundaries. This is probably the easiest to deal with.

Second, if you have taken on your mate’s surname, you will be involved in the family issues to the extent that your “objectivity,” if we can call it that, will be limited. You will have a feeling of inclusion in the mate’s family and will still have a conscious sense of your own family issues, but they won’t play as heavily in your issues with your mate except as being received by them as an “outside” influence. In essence, you will be dealing with the two vibrations “separately.”

Safe Travel by the Numbers

In our continuing saga of everyday uses for numerology, obtaining travel guidance via numbers is a hot topic!

You’ve already learned how to tell how a vehicle is used, as well as other interesting things about it and its owner from “The License Plate Game”.  Now let’s take a more serious look at how numbers can be used to find things out about travel, and how to make your trips the safest ones possible

Once you’ve learned the basics of numbers for travel, you’ll be looking at your airline, train bus, and limousine tickets, and your theater, hotel and vacation reservation codes in a whole new way!

Let’s look at the meanings of the numbers relative to travel.

Numerology: What Is It?

Numerology is the study of numbers. Right you say. But what does that mean to me? I’m not a mathematician. Why would I study them? Well, ask yourself this question: Are there some colors that make you feel good? Are there other colors that make you feel nervous or ‘icky’? Colors are actually light vibrating at different frequencies. Have you heard music that just makes you feel good all over or have you heard that earsplitting beep of that microwave in the coffee shop that makes your teeth itch? Sound is a vibration at different frequencies too.

The License Plate Game

InfiniteQuest Article Image

The boredom of long trips in a car is easily broken when you learn the License Plate Game and teach it to your kids and your friends. It’s easy. If you know the alphabet and can add, you can easily determine the uses other drivers put their cars to just by adding up the numbers and letters on their license plate! To turn this into a psychic game, just pick out a car that you can see the license plate on, ‘guess’ what the car might mostly be used for – i.e. work, family fun, vacation – and then start adding and see how accurate your guess was! Ask your friends their license plate number and experiment. You’ll be amazed how accurate this is!

Here’s how to do it. You are going to add across on the license plate from left to right, converting any letters to numbers first. To convert the letters, in numerology we just convert the 26 letters in the alphabet to their corresponding number, in order, and reduce them to a single digit by adding them together. A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, F=6, G=7, H=8, I=9, J=1 (It’s actually 10, but then we add 1 0 and reduce it to 1. We always reduce to single digits), K=11/2 (In this case we’ll work with both numbers, since 11, being a double digit, is a Master Number), L=3, M-4, N=5, O=6, P=7, Q=8, R=9, S=1, T=2, U=3, V=22/4, W=5, X=6, Y=7, Z=8. When we are all done adding, we reduce our final result to a single digit too.
Let’s take an example:

Here’s a license plate of 142WBI. To add across you do this: 1 4 2 5(W) 2(B) 9(I). The result is 23 or 2 plus 3=5. The final number will show you the primary use of the car, but the other numbers show secondary uses, and even other people who might use the vehicle!
