So What's in a Name? - Part 1: The Surname

InfiniteQuest Article Image

Numerologically, our name can be divided into three sections; our first, middle and last name, or surname. Our first name indicates how we handle physical matters, our middle name indicates how we approach emotional issues and our surname represents our spiritual mission and traditional heritage. This article was prompted by questions coming from those who are getting married and need to know if taking on the “other” family name is the best thing to do. Those who would like to know the effect of how they would be perceived by others if they changed their name can also use this.

First, it’s important to know that your family name is an experience and training that prepares you to approach life in a specific way that allows you to handle your “karma,” both good and bad. Changing your name will not alter that, but merely include the affect of another family name to compound with your own. So the question really becomes, “How will adding another family name to my vibration alter my karmic lessons?” So for those of you getting married and taking on another family name, you will simply add another dimension to your heritage or, if you choose not to do so, work with you mate’s family issues from a more “detached” perspective. The next question is, “What qualities will be taken on with a new name?” I will give the pros and cons of each number vibration, but first we must determine how to figure out that number vibration for the name to be taken on.

All the letters of the alphabet have a number vibration. Begin by numbering them 1-26 from A-Z; “A” being 1, “P” being 16 and “Z” being 26. Now take each letter and number and reduce them by adding the double digits together until you obtain a single number. “P” becomes a 7 and “Z” becomes an 8. For example the letter “S” is the 19th. Add 1+9=10 and add them again, 1+0=1. Hence the letter “S” is a “1” vibration. Next, if the name is Smith, add all the numbers together, that is 1+4+9+2+8=24. Then, add the double digits, 2+4=6. Therefore, the number vibration of Smith is “6.” Once you’ve determined the number vibration of the name, you can examine its meaning to see if you’d like to take on the affect as your own. Below is a list of some of the family assets and problems.

The Master Numbers

11

The number 11 is the higher octave of the number 2 (1+1=2). The 2 and the 11 have very similar qualities within the character, but the 11 induces the individual to work towards the higher plane. 11 being the inspirational number, shows that the individual is psychic and has great intuition and would like and can inspire others in religion and spiritual matters. 11 would like to be in the limelight (even though most won't admit, only think to themselves). People with the number 11 demand public attention so they can spread their ideas and indulge their ideals. Number 2 is shy, so it would prefer to be the follower.

Number 2, being the duality number, tries to see both sides of situations and emphasis is on sympathy and understanding; whereas the number 11 will direct an individual to reach for their goals, regardless what that person may see as obstacles in their way. The number 11 attracts others by their forceful personality and the beauty they inject into all matter. (Realize the number 11 as two 1's. Isn't the number 1 the pioneering and leadership personification?) The number 11 is rarely satisfied with the way things are and then interjects spiritual fulfillment in their visions. Sometimes their views are not always conventional and can defend some strange causes. The 11 can also have trouble making decisions and has a tendency to facilitate. Being full of nervous tension, 11 can do three or more things at once; such as talk on the phone, watch television and read a magazine. They should try to concentrate on their energies to do one thing at a time. Martyring is also a keyword for 11 and should learn to practice what they preach. They prefer not to take sides and are cautious in making commitments. Yet at times they can sacrifice themselves for their own beliefs. 11's prefer the finer things in life and usually gravitate to people with mutual interest. 11's can have a hard time finding a mate who can live up to their standards and need someone who is patient and tolerant and intellectual and one who can also impose practical theories towards this visionary dreamer. 11's are prone to moodiness and are subjected to highs and lows through emotional turbulence, especially when they feel unappreciated. An 11 can gain fame through humanitarian efforts as well as through notoriety, abuse of their mental powers and crime. 11's must be prepared to undergo trials and tribulations and realize they possess the inner strength to do so.

A Deadly Phone Number?

People often ask me, which numbers are most important to look out for? Birth date and name numbers are the ones that most know of, but can even phone numbers create havoc or harmony if not utilized correctly?

This brings me to a recent article I’d read, about three men who shared the same phone number over a ten year period, and each met an untimely demise. Coincidence, or are the numbers at play? Vladimir Grashnov, Konstantin Dimitrov and Konstantin Dishliev shared the number 0888 888 888. Well, off the bat I can see a trend!
