Patricia's Daily Mind/Body Moment - As Man Thinketh, A Great Book To Read!

InfiniteQuest Article Image

Here are a few of my favorite quotes:

"A strong man cannot help a weaker unless that weak is willing to be helped and even then the weak man must become strong in himself. He must, by his own efforts develop the strengths he admires in another. None but himself can alter his condition"

"The body is the servant of the mind. A change of diet will not help a man who will not change his thoughts. "

"All a man achieves and all he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts"

You will get more benefit from changing the way you think than by focusing on changing the way you eat. Your thoughts inspire your actions. Your body is a reflection of your thoughts. Your body is a servant of the mind. It doesn't have to be hard. All you have to do it want it, really want it and keep reminding yourself everyday why you want it!

In Your Dreams - February 2012

InfiniteQuest Article Image

Many of you loyal readers have written in to ask me what I dream about. So I decided to share a recent dream and interpret it here with you.

I am aware of dreaming most every night. I am just as guilty as some of my clients in not always taking the time to write them down. But I do often and have for most of my life.

I value and treasure the brilliant messages my dreams provide to me. They are a connection to spirit and offer a barometer of my mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health as well as specific direct messages.

Okay! So here’s a recent dream that I had. I was at a chateau or mansion, my sister and I were headed down to the beach when chef Mario Batali called to me from the balcony. I should probably insert here that I love to cook. I cook everyday. My friends and family say that I am the best ever J And I watch all of the cooking shows on TV that I can fit into my very busy schedule.

The Art of Remembering and Interpreting Dreams

(Adapted from “Guide to Intuitive Healing” by Judith Orloff, M.D.)

At different times in my life, I am a physician, a teacher, a friend and an author, but being a dreamer is what I value the most.

Whatever I am doing, I always hear my dreams echoing in a distant underground chamber beneath my thoughts and feelings, attuned to the rhythms of my body and the very substance of the earth. They are my compass and my truth; they guide me and link me to the Divine. They call out to me in an intimate whisper, always knowing how to find me. They speak my real name.

For me, dreaming is a direct line to a place where magic abounds and nothing is without meaning. It is a pristine state of awareness, unpolluted and clear. Direct guidance for healing lies in our dreams, the natural territory of intuition. Here, time and space are non-existent and anything is possible. Like a blank, white canvas, our dream world is a spacious medium where intuition can freely express itself. We have only to listen.

You are in partnership with your dreams. Initiate an ongoing dialogue with them. It's like consulting the wisest doctor you can imagine who knows you inside out. You can ask your dreams anything. No question is trivial if it is meaningful to you. Expect answers. Some will be direct. Others may require interpretation.

Dreams and Divinity

Wouldn’t it be great if we could just pick up the phone and call up to Heaven?

“Hello God? Yeah, it’s me again, have ya’ got a minute? I was wondering if I could bounce a couple of ideas off of you?”

Happily I can report that we do have a hot-line to heaven as close as our pillows, and that direct communication is possible through our nightly dreams.

Of course the Bible is filled with dreams in which God and angels warned and guided the people of the day. And, history is replete with factual stories of inventors, designers, authors, scientists, musicians, athletes and others in all fields of human endeavor who have received important messages enabling them to do great works through their dreams.

What it is and How it Works

Past Life Regression Hypnosis guides us and allows us to go back in our memories to the very source of our pain or problem whether it is physical, emotional, mental or psychological. Sometimes the cause of the difficulty we are experiencing is in this lifetime. But very often the source is in another lifetime. Stored in our unconscious minds are all of the memories of all of our lifetimes. The Past Life Regression Hypnosis gives us the ability and chance to access those memories and get to the bottom of our problems so that we can resolve and heal them permanently.

A Medium's Perspective Regarding Scientific Research

InfiniteQuest Article Image

As a medium, I’ve always considered the work I do as ‘spiritual’ in nature; there’s nothing scientific about it, not by any stretch of the imagination. If there was, then science would require me to think, analyze and assess what’s taking place during a mediumship reading – and as any skilled medium will tell you, that is not the way the process works for us. In fact, we never think about or analyze information; we simply expand our awareness and interpret whatever is coming through. At the same time, I think it’s important to look at the scientific aspect of what we do, which is technically, accessing information from a different stream of consciousness; it does deserve to be studied.  One of the challenges for a scientist however, might be trying to understand how the mind of a medium typically works and what the process might be like for most of us.

As a lab certified psychic medium, I’ve been tested under strict laboratory conditions, first at the University of Arizona and more currently at the Windbridge Institute where I’ve participated in double blind and triple blind research studies for the past eight years. These protocols are so strict that it virtually eliminates any possibility of cold reading, guessing or cheating, on any level. And I’m proud to have had the opportunity to participate in research conducted at such a high level of integrity. However, there have been other research studies done on survival of consciousness as well (both in the US and abroad), although from some of this other research I’ve read about, it seems that those studies may not have been conducted, or understood, very well.

The overall problem with this type of research (as I see it) is that in order to truly study the phenomenon, you not only need the right ‘tools’, but you need to assess it with a perspective outside of mainstream thinking. Scientists have a tendency to measure things within the realm of ‘brain function’, and in my opinion, mediumship is anything but that. And while I can fully appreciate their scientific methodology, all of their mathematical statistics will probably never prove mediumship. Why not?  Because what takes place is much more than a mental process.

I think that mediums simply use the brain/mind function as a ‘pathway’ to experience and/or communicate with another stream of consciousness. Scientists on the other hand, keep studying the pathway instead of the phenomenon itself, which in my mind, are two very different and distinct things. As mediums, we ‘feel’ things and usually interpret those feelings within a context of ‘core beliefs’ which is oftentimes outside of [most types of] mainstream thinking. We are also flexible in nature (i.e., we simply ‘go with the flow’ and remain open to whatever information comes through).

The Effect of Our Aura on Electronics

InfiniteQuest Article Image

Recently, a woman wrote to me to ask if the energy we produce as a human being can have an effect on alarm clocks and other electronics.  I responded back to her that indeed it can and that the energy, which emits from the field surrounding our physical body, is known as the aura body.

How does the aura affect electronics you might be wondering? I’ll do my best to explain here as simply as possible.

As a person with intuitive abilities, I've seen auras around people since childhood. Over the years, I began to study what I saw in the aura, observing the energetic patterns and shapes as well as short energy bursts that I would see erupting from the body, similar to what occurs when the sun emits a solar flare. These energetic bursts are capable of disrupting electronics and are felt by other people who have intuitive ability and are sensitive to energy. Some people are aware of the energy they can build and for others it is a complete surprise when it occurs.

In some cases it is not a burst of energy that is created, but rather energy residue that has built up and is now trapped within the aura unable to be released properly. To imagine what this looks like in the energy field surrounding the body, visualize a thunderstorm right before the rain is released from the clouds. The clouds are heavy and full, the energy gathers and the air feels pregnant and ready for a release. If the conditions are not right and the rain is not able to gently fall, tumultuous weather patterns can occur with lightning and high winds. Energy blocked in the aura fields can cause similar disruptions as it seeks to release the pressure. When there is a blockage stopping the flow of energy, the pent up energy builds like a thunderstorm and can create havoc when it finally releases.

There are people who have learned through their spiritual practice how to balance and harness this energy, while others carry over this information from previous lifetimes of experience. They are able to work with this energy to create positive effects in the world including: physical healing, soul healing, restorative work with nature, and raising the energy vibration of people and places wherever they are.

Inside the Life of a Psychic Medium

InfiniteQuest Article Image

Have you ever wondered what life is typically like for someone who is a professional psychic – or how our minds process everything? Well, here are a couple of insights into a psychic reader’s world... and I’m not referring to the actual work we do, but more about what the expectations should be – since we are constantly shifting our focus between readings and clients – and the mundane matters of life.

The truth is that our lives are not really much different than yours. I conduct scheduled sessions daily where I’m either reading Tarot and answering questions about your love life – or connecting with your loved ones in the afterlife to help bring you some peace of mind. But I also have to go grocery shopping, make dinner for my family, do the laundry and maintain my home – just like you do!

Time is also of the essence for most of us, and psychic readers are no different.  Oftentimes, we are juggling several things during the course of a day, in addition to our families and kids. For instance, in between my reading appointments on any given day, I may also be scheduling appointment requests, writing articles, updating my web site or working on presentations for events, conferences and/or workshops. Of course, there is always a constant stream of voice mails and emails to answer. And several times a month, I get emails from people who are developing (either psychic or mediumistic abilities), but are frightened by what they are experiencing. And I do take the time to answer those – to both guide them and put their mind at ease. And the list goes on... So it does require significant time to fit everything in, much in the same way that your schedule probably works.
