Patricia's Daily Mind/Body Moment - As Man Thinketh, A Great Book To Read!

InfiniteQuest Article Image

Here are a few of my favorite quotes:

"A strong man cannot help a weaker unless that weak is willing to be helped and even then the weak man must become strong in himself. He must, by his own efforts develop the strengths he admires in another. None but himself can alter his condition"

"The body is the servant of the mind. A change of diet will not help a man who will not change his thoughts. "

"All a man achieves and all he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts"

You will get more benefit from changing the way you think than by focusing on changing the way you eat. Your thoughts inspire your actions. Your body is a reflection of your thoughts. Your body is a servant of the mind. It doesn't have to be hard. All you have to do it want it, really want it and keep reminding yourself everyday why you want it!

The Pleasures of Tea - Oral Health

InfiniteQuest Article Image

Research has shown a link between drinking tea and oral health. The compounds in tea, particularly catechins and theaflavins, were found to inhibit growth of three different strains of bad breath causing bacteria over a 48-hour period. These compounds are present in all teas, but are most abundant in black tea. Also, flavonoids in tea are believed to naturally inhibit the growth of bacteria that is responsible for the formation of dental plaque and cavities. In addition, naturally occurring fluoride may support healthy tooth enamel.

What Is a Chakra?

InfiniteQuest Article Image

A chakra is an energy center that is shaped like a cone that goes out the front and the back of the body.  Each cone has a vortex within it.  A vortex is shaped like a tornado and the energy in it moves continuously.   There is a specific direction that each vortex should spin for optimal health.  Each chakra, or energy center, is named for the part of the body in which it is located.

Root (red) chakra is located at the base of the spine

Sacral (orange) chakra is located a few inches below the belly button

Solar plexus (yellow) chakra is located two inches above the belly button

Heart (green) chakra is located in the heart area

Throat (blue) chakra is located in the throat area

Third eye ( purple) chakra is located in the middle of your forehead ( sometimes Indigo)

Crown (white) (purple)  chakra is located several inches above the crown of your head

Attitude is Everything

InfiniteQuest Article Image

It has been said by many wise people that “life is 10% of what happens in our lives and 90% of how we perceive, understand and respond or react to it.” It is easy to be positive and have faith and trust in the higher power when we and our loved ones are well and life is being kind to us. The real challenge is to maintain this attitude when there are challenging health, relationship, financial and other difficult issues confronting us.

I have learned from so many wise and spiritual people that keeping our faith and trust in God, the universal consciousness, or whatever we choose to call the higher power is the key. When we remind ourselves that although there is destiny, we are in control of our thoughts and the thought that there is a reason for everything is a start.

Babyscope 2010

A few words about babies and Sun signs. The Sun sign describes the qualities and attributes we carry as potential, which we grow into rather than how we necessarily are when we are small. A baby responds more from its Moon sign for the first 7 years and these are the qualities of the Mother. The Sun sign tells us of the Father qualities and it is his ‘messages’ and behaviors that will condition the potential of your child as their Sun Sign.

Beat the Blues

InfiniteQuest Article Image

This is the time of year where you will start to hear and read about getting your flu shots and how many people experience “winter blues” with the change of season. Winter blues are described as a lower level of energy or a mild depression that happens with the change of season, especially from summer to fall, due to the decreased sunlight.

One great way to combat a lower level of energy or a mild depression is to increase your own level of energy.
